Kaveri Raja
This tusker is 18 years old and is a very attractive and beautiful tusker. By its physical appearance of the tusks it is expected that it will become a tusker with joined tusks in future. It was granted to the Sri Dalada Maligava by the then Indian Premiere Minister Athal Bihari Vajpai in 1998. It was granted when it was very young and 4 feet high at that time. It was used to come to Sri Dalada Maligawa and eat Milk Rice (Kiribath) and once it hurt the left hand while running in the steps of the Maligawa. This small tusker is still too young and is trained on taking the reliquary in the procession and had proceeded in a large number of other processions up to date. Most probably it will proceed as a tusker elephant of the tusker which takes the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha in the Sri Dalada Procession.

Kandula
This elephant presently aged 28 years was granted to the Sri Dalada Maligava from the Pinnavala Elephant Orphanage in 1978. Although this elephant participated in the Sri Dalada Procession at its youth, as its period of rut began in month of July or August, it lost the opportunity to proceed in the procession. This 8 feet 5 inches high tusker has a special ability and got training on taking the reliquary. Although it does not proceed in the Dalada Procession, it has an elegant experience on taking jewellery of God and reliquary in rural processions.
